Bother anybodys else how the new trend is for these premium or expansion packs with recent games....I submitted and got premium for bf3 finally only to see black ops is the same way...now a game costs 100 bucks rather than 60...just voicing my opinion but why not include it in the new game with 1 or 2 expansions down the road....I wont be on warfighter or black ops till christmas and already ill be behind with maps...im just saying....in any event cant wait to play with more pas on the other games but I will mostly continue to play bf3...

Its more expensive in the long run... but if you ask me its the smartest ways for these companies to make money on their games plus it keeps them funded for making more map packs and updates. I'm not happy with it, but I guess I'm okay with it.

It actually isn't worth it at all. It is a horrible system and it is just another way companies can milk games for every penny.
Basically now everything has a "Season Pass" with it and they usually cost $30. It is the biggest rip off and companies know it. Instead of putting out games with the best content, the put out a game that is 90% complete, then charge you for the rest of it.
My biggest beef right now are the online passes. The crap where if you get a used game or rent a game, you need to spend an extra $10 to even play it online, or play it online past a certain level. That is my biggest gripe. And their excuse is that used games cut into their revenue. That is bullshit. Used game losses account for like 5% of their total income on games. They still make billions on these game(while only spending millions to make them). They are like the new oil companies.
Your god as my witness, if I won that Powerball Jackpot, I would start a Video game company that put out the best shooter in the god damn world and DLC and Online would be FREE!!!

Before online passes came out, it used to be like that. But then game quality dropped. Remember the progression from Socom 3 to CA then to Confrontation? It just got horrid. Socom 3 was so glitchy, CA was the worst of all 3 in my opinion and Confrontation had terrible lag issues and no gameplay. The point was, that if those games would have had the money from an online pass, they would have updated them while they worked on map packs. Instead CA was like an unfinished map pack for S3 that pretty much was an "online pass" it was $30. COD does the same thing via Modern Warfare, MW2, BO and BO2... Battlefield did the same with Bad Company and BC2. Instead now they release less games and are just releasing more online content and updating their games. I'm okay with that, pay for the game then within 3 months I have new maps and updates to look forward to instead of being disappointed with a game that they dont fix maybe update twice while they work on an entire new game.

They get away with it cos they can lol supply and demand. Our habits as gamers promoted the idea, and what have we done? we only gave them proof that it works.

To be fair, Confrontation was only really laggy for the first couple of months, then it smoothed out with some patches. CA was the worst because they went off of the Socom 3 engine which was just garbage to begin with, and then they tried to cut so much out of it to get it a T rating that they just unforgivably killed the engine. I kind of miss the cycle where a game would come out, then 9 months later the sequel comes out. Now it seems like they just make half of a game, release the rest of it over the next 18 months just to keep you wanting to play and then release the next game.

socom confrontation had more to do with the developer. kinda like how i read the black ops vita game sucks bc it has a crappy developer. its about money, microsoft throws money at games like forza and it makes gran turismo look bad because microsoft throws money at them and they release 10-20 car packs while polyphony digital sells 4 cars at a time and most of them are slow crappy cars.
